Cleaning muddy boots is a chore, and with Autumn upon us it means we will all be doing this chore a lot more! Let’s face it with the rain we’ve seen in England this year it’s one job we may have to get used to! It gets worse however once football season kicks in (sorry!) and kids are back at school, because it won’t just be muddy wellies and shoes… no matter which football boots or trainers you own, they too are going to need cleaning! The brilliant  Tyger Paw Boot Cleaner removes Mud from Football & Rugby Boots, Walking & Hiking Boots, Sports Shoes, Carpets, Mats and Runners!

It’s the ideal tool for cleaning sports footwear, designed by a lifelong football fan involved in playing, coaching and managing for more than 25 years. In that time, players’ kit, especially footwear, has evolved dramatically. Like many amateur and Sunday League footballers he cleaned boots with whatever was available after the match – scrubbing brush, keys, biro – but he knew there should be something better out there for the cleaning of boots. You want your name, address and telephone number on your boots? No problem. ‘Just do it’. But there’s a price to pay. With a top end pair now costing upwards of £200, many footballers are desperate to prolong the life of their kit.

The First Frost! Get Ready For Car Condensation & Ice!

We’ve now had the first frost of the year! So if like myself you are already starting to notice condensation appearing in your car windscreen, you should act now. Before you know it this condensation will lead to ice on the inside of your windscreen – never mind getting rid of ice on the outside, that takes long enough, but getting rid of condensation on the windscreen is another problem! The most efficient way of removing it is
with a Condensation Remover.

removing condensation from car windows
Often it’s worse in older cars, but even new cars suffer! If it’s particularly bad it could be that there’s a small hole or the window seals aren’t doing their job, but condensation doesn’t need a big hole to get inside because the smallest cracks and crevices will slowly allow the condensation in and it’ll build up over time (or over night). Of course at this time of year water gets into the car ever time we get in or out (shoes, clothing, open windows etc), even breathing adds moisture! You may notice when it gets colder this condensation becomes ice inside the car. Well one of the most efficient ways of reducing the problem is by using a condensation remover. No that doesn’t mean a big box on the dashboard, the Mini Moisture Absorber is absolutely ideal for this because it really is mini in size measuring just 95 x 45 x 80 mms. An added bonus is that it leaves a lovely lavender smell too and when you see how much water starts to fill up in the trap it will make you realise why you had so much of it on the windscreen! See what previous people have said about the Mini Moisture Absorber:

That’s your car sorted but what about the condensation that is appearing in your homes? If you leave this to continue you will start to see the accompanying mould on the window frames and worse because damp is the main cause of damage to materials in the home. In fact moisture, condensation and damp feed toxic, and often invisible, household moulds so whenever you see this condensation you need to stop it before more damage is done and there are several steps to removing this problem from your home….

The reason condensation forms on your windows is because of excess humidity in your home. This manifests itself in the form of condensation on the coldest area of a wall, usually the windows. When the warm air (and the moister it retains) comes into contact with the colder glass in your windows it cools and releases moisture in the form of condensation. So the first way to reduce condensation is to control and reduce humidity and increase air flow, thus increasing ventilation in your home is a must. How do you do that? Whenever you have a bath or shower make sure you ventilate the room.

The easiest way is to open the window and close the door – many people simply open the bathroom door which means all that moisture is simply going into the rest of the house which isn’t what you want! The same applies to drying clothes. We all need to dry our clothes inside the house, especially in Winter for obvious reasons, but ideally drying clothes in a room such as your porch or any room you can shut off from the rest of the house is a good idea. Large amounts of moisture are generated in a house from these two activities, so taking such actions does help.

Airtight Storage Bags For Clothes – The Perfect Space Savers

If you’re short of wardrobe space there are several solutions… either you get rid of some clothes or somehow get some extra hanging space! Who is going to want to get rid of clothes?!!! The best solution is to create more space by making your wardrobe a bit more seasonal – removing out of season clothes from your main storage areas will also make it easier to see everything in your wardrobe in the morning and save a lot of time getting ready! If you don’t have anywhere else to store your clothes, or if you want to keep them hanging up but not taking up so much space you should make use of one of the best space saving solutions around -  Hanging Vacuum Organisers can make your hanging clothes take up far less space!

This hanging vacuum sealed bag is perfect for  jackets, shirts, coats, dresses etc. and keeps them moth free! The Hanging Vacuum Organiser compresses your clothes safely inside a special bag, which has a seal and a

valve into which you place your vacuum hose to extract the air from the bag. This protects your clothes from dust, dirt, moisture, moths and insects (the clothes should be clean before sealing the bag).
It can be wiped clean inside and out, and can be used for many, many years (although it is recommended that stored items are removed every 6 months for airing). When the bag is opened, air immediately circulates through the item and restores it to its former plumpness.
It’s available as a standard size bag is 105 x 70cm approximately and it takes up to 5kg in weight of clothes. The Large size is longer, 145 x 70cms –  suitable for longer items such as dresses, coats and long jackets. Think Small and think no more moths!

airtight storage bag for clothes
When used to it’s full potential the bag creates up to three times more hanging space on crowded wardrobe rails and cupboards. Hang the bags on a sturdy clothes rails. Ideally hang it not with a metal hooked hanger but with a plastic hanger.

Want to take your out of season clothes out of the wardrobe but don’t have much other usable space? Again vacuum packs to the rescue! Look to areas that aren’t used efficiently – such as under your bed… with the Deluxe Underbed Vacuum Storage Chest you can reduce volume of store items by up to an amazing 75%!!! At 106 x 45 x 15 cms this high capacity airtight storage bag for clothes has a Compressible Inner Bag and Rigid side panels, making is strong and durable. It’s Airtight & Waterproof and best of all will allow you to neatly store bulky items under the bed. Not only will you be saving a huge amount of space, but you’ll also be protecting against Moths, Bugs, Dirt, Mildew & Odours. You can easily identify items inside should you need to get to them with a see-through window and the strong handle makes it easy to pull out from under the bed. vacuum sealed bag
You’ll be amazed at how much you can store in the relatively small space under your bed – and this Vacuum Storage Chest is so easily accessible too – you won’t have to go up to the loft any time you want to check what’s in the bag or get something out! It’s not just for clothes either – check out the below review:
Sunday, 17th June 2012, 4months ago I use the vacuum bags for storage of bedding, my children’s soft toys, clothes – anything that I need to keep clean, moth free, damp free etc. I would recommend this product to anyone who has storage issues or just wants to keep material items stored in the best possible environment.

School Is Back – School Uniform Care Tips

What could be more stressful than getting yourself ready for work after a long break? Getting yourself ready for work, plus getting your children ready for school too! Ok nobody said having kids was easy and during the holidays most of us realise how true this is, but now they’re back at school there are other things to do such as getting their bag and uniforms ready and that means cleaned and properly labelled (plus all the spares you need too!)

There are several ways of doing this and some people buy ready printed labels to either iron or sew into the clothing. This causes problems when you have more than one child though, because you have to order more than one set and you can’t change it once done.  With a School Uniform Marker Kit you can set your

individual text & change it if necessary!Fabric Marker

Fabric Marker Kit – Ideal for School Uniforms

* Fabric Marker Kit with a built – in textile ink pad
* This is a very effective & professional way of marking garments (both light & dark) with names etc
* Pack contains:
1 stamp & pad with Black textile ink pad
One set of letters (264 letters & characters) : 4mm font size
One pair of Tweezers
One Fleece strip 50 x 60 mm
* This is  very simple to use & you can set your individual text & change it if necessary.
* The fabric dye is washable for most absorbing fabrics ( cottons,  polyester & most blended materials ).
* Non – toxic ink
Ok, so you’ve labelled everything, but you’ll want to make sure you keep School Uniforms, Sports Kits (and their own clothes) in tip-top condition by taking care when washing and repairing them when necessary. For temporary repairs when time is short you can’t get better than Velcro® Hem Fix Kit. (See it in action on trouser hems and shirts by clicking on the images.)Hem Fix
Not everyone thinks of Velcro® being used for tasks such as fixing a hem, but this really useful repair kit is ideal for making quick repairs to all hems and also ideal for clothing, soft furnishings and craft projects.

(For older children you could even put one in their school bag).Velcro Hem Fix
It consists of 20 soft and flexible adhesive strips which are strong and reliable and are very quick & easy to use, so ideal as an instant repair kit.

Wundaweb

We aren’t all expert sewers and most of us don’t enjoy the task of hemming skirts or trousers in preparation for school. But permanent repairs can be made a bit easier by using Wundaweb Easy Hemming. Available as Wundaweb Easy Hemming Regular or Wundaweb Easy Hemming Extra Strong for heavier fabrics. It means easy hemming without sewing, to give secure invisible hems in seconds! It’s perfect for hemming skirts, trousers, dresses and much more.
Finally, the one thing you do most days is the washing! Tedious yes, easy… not always. Washing disasters do happen and there’s nothing worse than ruining an item of their school uniform with a colour run in the wash – especially if you’ve spent the time labelling or repairing it! To prevent disasters when washing the uniforms or sports kits use a product such as Dylon Colour Catcher®. Dylon are colour experts and when you need something done properly you go to an expert! White shirts will stay white, colours stay bright and you also want to save time by mixing the wash. Normally every time you wash bright or dark coloured clothes, traces of dye bleed into your laundry. These dyes may completely ruin your wash or leave your clothes with a dull, grubby appearance. Colour Catcher® is a treated anti‐transfer sheet with special ingredients which act like a magnet, removing loose dyes and dirt during the washing process.
